This 5:36 long video gives a good overview of what the flipped classroom looks like and how it can be set up. This video is for a math class in middle school, but the lessons can be applied to most all subject areas. Lots of good ideas.

This is a PowerPoint presentation that explains this concept and offers data about its value. There isn't any source for the statistics, but the idea of having course content available to students to use at any time has merit. Well worth viewing.
