She is challenged to be honest, courageous, kind, and present in ...this interview. She talks about her life growing up. After being raped at age 7 she stopped speaking for 6 years. During that time she learned to read, and she read many books. She now has 55 doctorates and teaches all over the world. She came through many challenges because of love. Mrs. Flowers took her to the school library and told her to read. One day Mrs. Flowers told her she would never love poetry until she spoke it, until it comes through your lips.
