This instructor makes it look easy! In an easy conversational tone, the instructor uses the computer screen as his 'blackboard' and different colors to emphasis his points. As this is an introduction to dividing fractions, this video is for older ele...mentary students. (08:58)[more]

Learn to solve word problems involving division of whole numbers by fractions by using picture models. This link includes 4 video lessons. Lesson one (4:07) solves a word problem with number sentence 6 divided by 1/2. Lesson two (4:00) solves the pro...blem 1/2 by 3. Lesson three (4:26) solves 1/2 divided by 1/8. Lesson four (3:41) solves the problem 1 1/2 divided by 1/2. The instructor uses picture models to show how to solve each problem. Very clear instruction and illustrations in these video lessons. This video indicates it is for pre-algebra, however this video would be good for anyone who is reviewing or learning division of fractions. In the video division of fractions starts with dividing a whole number by a fraction. The instructer uses a nu...mber line to show this concept, then does the problem, when doing the problem he uses the reciprocal and then multiplies. He does a few examples using both of these methods. Then they move on to the problem, change division to multiplication, cross cancel, and then multiply. Once again they do a number of examples. Video is good quality and good for all students as review or initial learning of the concept. (09:21)[more]

The instructor uses a small whiteboard in this short two-minute tutorial to demonstrate how to divide fractions. The video goes step-by-step and is easy to understand. (02:14)
