If you're interested in setting up your own website, you'll need to upload files to your hosting company. This film explains what uploading and FTP are, and how to do it.
Your website's files aren't hosted on your computer; they're hosted on a serv...er which is probably miles away from you. You need to get your website's files up to the server in order for your website to go live.
This is done by ftp, which stands for “File Transfer Protocol”. Through the control panel at your hosting company's website, you can set up an ftp address associated with your account; ftp.videojug.com, for example.
Think of ftp as being like another disk on your computer which you can copy files to and from. If you boot up Internet Explorer, and type ftp.whateveryourwebsitescalled.com into the address bar, you'll be prompted for your username and password.
