This video shows rounding decimals, and how to round up to the next digit in the sequence if the digit is equal to or greater than five. Round decimals to specific decimal places using tips from a math tutor in this video. (01:28)

In this three-minute video the instructor uses a word problem to show how to estimate with decimals. The instructor uses computer software to demonstrate how to solve the problem.

Students learn to round a decimal to a given place using the following steps. First, find the digit in the rounding position. Next, look at the digit to the right of the rounding position. If the digit to right of the rounding position is greater th...an or equal to five, round up. Then change all digits to the right of the rounding place to zero. Finally, we can drop off any zeros to the right of the decimal as long as they are also to the right of the round position. Good review and instruction for all level students. (01:28)[more]

This video indicates it is for pre-algebra; however this would be good for anyone who is reviewing or learning rounding numbers. This is a great video showing students how to round numbers; they give many examples with various number values, such as ...tens, hundreds, and thousands. Then they describe the process using words. Good video for instruction and review for any grade level.[more]

A teacher presents the four rules for rounding using hand printed charts. Rule 1: Round up if the number to the right is a 6, 7, 8, or 9. Rule 2: Round down when number to the right is lower than a five (0, 1, 2, 3, or 4). Rule 3: Rule of 5+, when... there is a five to the right of the digit, and there are zeros after the five, round up. Rule 4: Rule of 5 flat-round to the even, for example 2104.95, round to 2105 rather than rounding to 2104.9. (6:19)[more]

The video presents two examples of comparing and ordering decimals. There is an example of least to greatest and greatest to least. (The sound quality of this video needs improvement.)
