In part 2 of this video, Papa Bear continues to be obsessive about winning the annual Thanksgiving pumpkin contest and lets it interfere with his friendship with Farmer Ben. Papa wins third place and realizes he should not have treated his friend so ...rudely. The Bear family share a special Thanksgiving and are very thankful for special friends and the "giant" pumpkin pie. This is a good companion teaching resource for reading Berenstain Bear books in the classroom and/or library. This video would work well in conjunction with reading The Prize Pumpkin during the Thanksgiving season. This is part 2 of 2. (5:46)

This lesson shows how children make butter. The children shake heavy cream to make butter. Each person took a turn shaking the container until the buttermilk separated out and the fat turned into butter. Dr. Oakley explained to the children that the... small parts in the butter, called fat molecules, bang together as we shake the container. As they bang together more and more, they begin to stick together, which makes the butter. The children learned that a liquid can become a solid. The students sing a cute song while they shake the butter and wait for it to change into a solid. (02:11)
