This is a video segment excerpted from the PBS series Looking for Lincoln, in which President Bill Clinton explains the context of Abraham
Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr.
examines its content. This would be a good clip to show after discussing and reading The Gettysburg Address. (01:33)

This is a student-led interview with a mathematician. The interviewing student has questions she has prepared and conducts the interview well. This would be great to show as an example of how to hold a formal one-on-one interview/discussion. NOTE: It is lengthy, so use discretion as to which segment would be best to show. (13:22)

Video discusses: What is Islam? Over the last few years there has been a tremendous amount of information being passed around about the Islam and the Muslims, but how correct is it and from what point of view is it being presented? These are some of the topics that are covered in this series of videos. First, they discuss the root of Islam. Then they discuss how the Muslims believe in Abraham, his books, the last day, the angels, the after-life, the devil being bad and influencing human beings, and in God as a merciful, righteous, and just person. Then they discuss Allah. Is Allah the same as God in English, not quite. Allah means the only one to be worshiped. Video is in Power Point format. Video gives good information about Islam and its foundation. Video is appropriate for middle school and high school students.

In this show, Bob the Tomato interviews Abraham and Sarah about how they waited years and years (you know they loved that) for the child promised to them by God. Junior Asparagus joins in as the film crew records the interview, but his patience is quickly tested by an overzealous nurse, spitting camels, and other mishaps. As Bob presses on with the interview, Junior must learn the value of waiting, hence the point of the story.

Language politics in the Canadian province of Quebec have been a contentious issue for centuries, since Britain won the territory from France at the Plains of Abraham. Quebec eventually became one of Canada’s founding provinces, but it remained a bastion for the French language in North America. However, during the twentieth century, years of French nationalism finally came to a head and decades of tumult began that included the Quiet Revolution, language laws, referendums on Quebec separation and much more. Even today, the language debate in Quebec remains a political minefield that surfaces during every election campaign. In this video, WatchMojo.com learns more about language politics in Quebec. Instruments played include a variety of percussion instruments; the sackbut (predecessor to the trombone); various recorders; a rackett (the compact reed instrument played occasionally by one of the performers seated on the step); a shawm or two (predecessor of the oboe); and a rauschpfeife (played in some pieces by the woman on the right), which has no modern equivalent. It's a capped reed instrument (like a bagpipe chanter: your lips do not touch the reed as in modern woodwinds) with a conical bore; it's a relative of the crumhorn but a good deal louder and more difficult to play (as it easily overblows). Apart from the recorders this would probably have been described as a "loud band", playing the kind of instruments you would expect to hear outdoors at public events. You can visit the City of Lincoln Waites' web site here: http://www.lincolnwaites.com/ The Master of the Waites is the sackbut player, Al Garrod.
