This is a performance of a traditional Irish song. The lyrics are below (03:30): As down the glen one Easter morn
To a city fair rode I,
Their armed lines of marching men
In squadrons passed me by.
No pipe did hum, no battle drum
Did sound its loud tattoo
But the Angelus' bells o'er the Liffey swells
Rang out in the foggy dew.
Right proudly high in Dublin town
Hung they out a flag of war.
'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky
Than at Suvla or Sud el Bar.
And from the plains of Royal Meath
Strong men came hurrying through;
While Brittania's Huns with their long-range guns
Sailed in through the foggy dew.
The bravest fell, and the requiem bell
Rang mournfully and clear
For those who died that Easter-tide
In the springing of the year.
While the world did gaze with deep amaze
At those fearless men but few
Who bore the fight that freedom's light
Might shine through the foggy dew.
And back through the glen I rode again
And my heart with grief was sore
For I parted then with valiant men
Whom I never shall see more
But to and fro
In my dreams I go
And I kneel and pray for you
For slavery fled
Oh, glorious dead
When you fell in the foggy dew

Moon walk by Apollo 11 Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin video 3 of 5 filmed using a 16 mm camera on board the spacecraft. What's interesting about this film is that it looks like it is in black and white until the astronauts deploy the American flag and you can see the colors. The red color of the flag appears very bright against the gray of the soil of the moon. (04:22)

Wendy Ewbank teaches seventh and eighth grade at Madrona School in Bellevue, Washington. In a civics lesson on landmark Supreme Court cases, the students focus on the tension between the rights of the individual and the good of society. In the lesson, students work in
groups, presenting various cases to the class in the form of a press
conference. Key issues include the right to privacy, equal protection,
and the First Amendment. On day two, students hold a town meeting to discuss whether the burning of the American flag is protected under the right to freedom of speech. Ms. Ewbank provides clear rubrics, which help students understand the expectations and goals for the lesson.

(Newsreel footage) February March 1945 Battle of Iwo Jima between the United States and Japan during World War II, when the iconic photograph Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima was taken. The U.S. occupied Iwo Jima until 1968, when it was returned to Japan. Today Iwo Jima has no permanent civilian population, but has an air base operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and occasionally used for day and night landing practice by the U.S. Navy's Carrier Air Wing Five based at Naval Air Facility Atsugi. The same situation occurs with the names of the city - due to the lack of possibility of change during the animation, modern names were used. (08:56)
