New Mexico State Flag and State Song
From YouTube, produced by Five Star Flags

The flag is shown against the blue sky.  The yellow field and red symbol colors are the colors of Spain. There is a red sun with rays stretching out from it. There are four groups of rays with four rays in each group. This is an ancient sun symbol of a Native American people called the Zia. They believed  the giver of all good gave gifts in groups of four. The gifts are: the four directions - north, east, south and west.  Two: the four seasons - spring, summer, fall and winter.  Three: the day - sunrise, noon, evening and night. Four: life itself - childhood, youth, middle years and old age. Five: all of these are bound by a circle of life and love, without a beginning or end.

Water: State of the Earth
From NationalGeographicVideo, produced by National Geographic
"In 2006 higher levels of carbon dioxide in the air had a negative impact on oceans, hitting marine life hard. A more acidic ocean means weaker shells and skeletons of billions of tiny sea creatures. These creatures may be small, but they create more then 70% of the oxygen we breath. Bigger fish are suffering from overfishing, but the good news is that the U.S. government is doing things to help."  (06:04)

The Bank of the United States (1st and 2nd)
From hippocampus.org, produced by University of California
Video accompanied by text. "One area of particular concern among bankers, businessmen, and government leaders was banking on the frontier. Frontier land was cheap, and speculators would buy large tracts expecting the price to go up as settlers entered the region. In order to finance their investments, speculators borrowed as much as they could from “wildcat” banks that sprang up to cater to this demand. These banks were themselves often speculative in nature, being more interested in making a fast dollar than building a secure banking business..."
