From YouTube, produced by Stephen Bosustow, United Productions Of America (UPA)
This is an animated short 1953 film, with music, adapted from Edgar Allan Poe's short story, "The Tell Tale Heart." Narratied by James Mason, the film has good sound quality and graphic animation (though the screen is black, except for the pinpoint light of one eye, from 3:20 - 4:10). Appropriate for middle and high school students. The film is introduced with the following subtitles: "The film that you are about to see is based on a story told a hundred years ago by america's greatest master of drama and suspense.... This story is told through the eyes of a madman... who, like all of us, believed that he was sane." "A Columbia Favorite," it ends with the mad storyteller behind bars. (7:47)
