From YouTube, produced by BBC
Excerpt from the 1999 BBC documentary 'The Planets' regarding Voyager 2 flyby of Neptune in 1989. After 12 years in flight, Voyager arrived at Neptune. This video describes what was seen. There are awesome pictures of Neptune taken by Voyager. They saw the deep blue color, dark spot, and white clouds that are on Neptune. They were able to see the complexity of the planet which include strong winds and why they occur. Scientists also noticed Neptune has ring arcs, they are not complete rings and they still don't understand why they aren't complete. This video also took pictures of one of the moons of Neptune, Triton. Triton was really unlike any they had seen before, it was really cold. Awesome pictures and information. Video is of great quality, and appropriate for middle elementary, middle and high school students.
