From YouTube, produced by NBC The News Hour
Jeff Brown interviews Judy Blume. In this interview Judy Blume is 66 years old. This interview took place the morning after she received an award from the National Book Foundation in a book store in New York City. She was the first author to win this award for young people's literature. She wrote these books, starting in the 1970's, when she was a wife and mother. She talks about how she loved to read when she was young and how she wanted to relate to the child and the family in the book. (4:06)
