From YouTube, produced by Lawrence Perez
This video goes through the vocabulary in exponents and how it is said. This video shows the difference between 5 x 2 and 5 raised to the second power. They show many different examples. Then they show how to write the exponent problem as a word statement. They also discuss a number raised to the zero power. It is introduced by looking at the pattern of numbers. They show that any number, except 0, raised to the zero power is equal to one. Then they go to more complicated problems where two numbers are multiplied and they both have exponents. Video is good quality and good for all students as review or initial learning of the concept.
