This segment from "Sid the Science Kid" goes through a step-by-step experiment on hand washing using the scientific method. First the kids put their hands into dirt and wipe them "clean" by using a dry paper towel. Their hands look outwardly clean, but when examined with a magnifying glass, dirt is still obvious. Then the kids wash with soap and water. This time, when they examine with a magnifying glass, they realize they are now clean. Then, they record their observations in their science journals. This would be an easy experiment to recreate at home or in a classroom. (04:09)
