From YouTube, produced by Britannica
Video reviews the history of immigration to the United States up to the restrictive law passed in 1924. Immigrants came to America for economic, political, and religious freedoms. Video discusses where immigrants came from, when the great migration happened, what happened when people arrived at the immigration stations, and what happens once immigrants are in the new land. Video then shows on a map where Germans, Scandinavians, and Irish immigrants settled. Video is black and white. Quality is good, considering the video is old, information about immigrants is good, but much of the later information is outdated. Video is appropriate for middle elementary or middle school students
