Bonnie Terry, M. Ed. answers the question:  “My daughter does not seem to be able to comprehend what she has read and struggles with answering questions about the reading assignment.”  Three different things could be going on.  The first is that she may skip, repeat, or omit words, when this happens she ends up losing meaning.  The second thing could be that she doesn’t have the under lying language or vocabulary that she needs to understand the text.  The third thing could be that she doesn’t know how to read for meaning.  To know that textbooks are organized for helping to understand, by using heading, main idea, and subtopics.  The first thing to do is to figure out which of the three problems is affecting her.  Video is of good quality and is good for parents and teachers who have a struggling child or student.
