Bonnie Terry, M. Ed. answers the question: “My ten-year-old son seems overwhelmed by the words on a page and cannot answer the questions. What can I do?” If they are overwhelmed with the amount of words on a page the same thing is probably happening when they look at a math page. The easiest thing to do would be to cover up a part of the text and then opening the page up as they go along. What you are doing is blocking off part of the text. The video is of good quality and the idea she uses is good for parents and teachers. (02:04)
