In this video Huckle and Lowly Worm learn about gravity. Gravity is a force on Earth that pulls things down. Throw a ball high in the air. Gravity won't let it stay there. Now we see why apples fall from the trees. We all would fly away without Earth's gravity. This is a good teaching resource for a thematic/science unit on gravity and Earth. A fantastic demo video of the High Speed High definition SprintCam Video Camera which shoots over 1000 frames per second. The quality is astounding and the final shot of a falling jelly/jello cube is simply mesmerising. My Physics classes of all ages loved this (as did my kids age 6 and 9). From the mountains to the coast, this series focuses on the water system known as the Connecticut River, one of 10 designated American Heritage Rivers. Filmed in the ecosystem and supported by The Connecticut River Education Initiative. Water. About three feet of it falls as rain and snow in this part of New England every year. In cities and other developed areas, much of it runs off rapidly, down into catch basins and storm drains, where it races through pipes and discharges into our rivers. In forested areas, it's a different story. Just where this rainwater flows depends on topography. With its hills and valleys, the earth is divided into watersheds or river basins, each one isolated from the next.

Protozoa: a now obsolete term that referred to colorless protists and included flagellates, ciliates, amoebae and sporozoa. The protozoa were all thought to be single celled eukaryotes. The concept was popular for much of the 20th century, but it has become clear that some are relatives of animals and fungi, others have closer relationships with algae than with other protozoa, and that protozoa are not closely related. The term has largely fallen into disuse. The Grand Alliance was a military success—Germany and Japan were defeated by the fall of 1945. However, despite the agreement to organize the United Nations, nothing close to a lasting ideological or political alliance was formed among the Allies during the Second World War. There were simply too many irreconcilable differences between them, exacerbated by a traditional distrust that commenced with the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917.
Actions taken by the Allied powers during the war likewise increased tensions within the Grand Alliance.
