Shut Up! And Let Me Teach: Ending the Assault on Teacher Autonomy | Chandra Shaw | TEDxLSCTomball
From YouTube, produced by TEDx Talks
If you live in Texas, you know all too well that there are a few things that are inevitable, death, taxes, and high stakes testing! What you may not be aware of is the effect it has on students and great teachers, those who stay at work late, not because they didn’t get the mountains of paperwork, intervention plans, and data analysis done during the day, not because they are unorganized poor managers of time, but because it’s the only time they have to do what they were actually hired to do, build relationships and design engaging thought provoking learning experiences for the students they teach. In this talk, Lifelong Learner, Educator, & Consultant, Chandra Shaw, shares the story of her first year of teaching and a of “politically incorrect” advice on what’s needed for teachers to teach so that ALL students can continue to learn and grow. Career Guidance: How to become a Software Tester
From YouTube, produced by www.funza.info
Software testing is the process of determining if a software product will be acceptable. A software defect or bug causes software to produce incorrect or unexpected results. These bugs can arise from mistakes made while designing the computer program or writing it. Some bugs may have minor effects on the output and lie undetected for a long time. Others may cause the program to crash. Bugs lead to a demand for professionals who are able detect them - the demand for SOFTWARE TESTERS. (5:11)

This Bra Screens for Breast Cancer
From YouTube, produced by Great Big Story
When you catch breast cancer early, you have a 95 percent survival rate. But many women under the age of 40 don’t have mammograms because of the cumulative effects of radiation. That’s where EVA comes in. They have developed a bra that can detect possible breast abnormalities in women of all ages—all without emitting radiation. The idea isn’t completely new—it’s been around since the 1970s, but advances in data collection and machine learning have made this bra a game changer. (02.48)

Wind Turbines and Health Problems
From YouTube, produced by CTV.CA
Windmills may be an environmentally friendly alternative energy source but they also cause debilitating health problems, say people who live near them. Wind turbines are popping up in rural communities around the world, including Canada, in the hope that they will reduce reliance on coal and other sources for power. Currently, there are about 1,500 turbines across Canada and there are plans to build another 1,000 to 1,500 in the next year. But some residents who live near wind farms complain the turbines cause a number of adverse health effects, such as crippling headaches, nose bleeds and a constant ringing in the ears. Helen and Bill Fraser initially supported the nearby wind farm in Melancthon, Ont. One turbine sat close to the Fraser's kitchen window. "We thought, more green energy, this is great," Helen told CTV News. However, Helen says she developed headaches, body aches and she had trouble sleeping. (02:14)

Stop a Dog Fight Instantly - 'Unlock' a Biting Dog in SECONDS !!
From YouTube, produced by 1st508th Airborne
BE CAREFUL! How to 'UNLOCK' a biting dogs in seconds. As a 2-decade long Animal Warden and Animal Cruelty Investigator for a large city with a dog fighting problem I am going to demonstrate here the most effective technique I have found to unlock a biting dog from another animal or person. This technique is highly effective, but also dangerous to the dog involved if held too long. I have used this technique dozens and dozens of times in the field against biting dogs encountered on the job and have developed a good technique for implementing it to maximum effect because of that repetition I have applying it in real world situations. It is much more effective and safer than using a break stick, hitting the dog or lifting up it rear legs. (05:25)
