Students are given a problem: The circumference of a circle is 20 pi. Find the radius and the area of the circle. The equation for circumference is given C = 2 pi r, where r represents the radius. In this lesson students learn about the area of a circle. Students are given a circle and need to find the area. The formula for area is: A = pi r squared. The diameter is given and students are reminded that radius is half the diameter. Students will then solve the problem. Video can be stopped after formula is given and solve the problem, then students can watch the conclusion and verify their answer. If you want to play this cool instrument, you need some serious hand coordination. The pipa is a pear-shaped string instrument that is native to China. The “pi” means to push the right-hand fingers from right to left, and “pa” is to pull the thumb of the right hand from left to right. Aside from its cool name, the Pipa, it is said, must be played with an open heart and mind in order to truly play it. (07:00)
